Andrew Marshall understood that while change is constant, it is the enduring contributions of people and their ideas that live on. For Andy, strategic thinkers are people whose work, while rooted in expertise, pushes boldly into speculation and hypothesis. They are comfortable with initial insights and partial answers rather than definitive findings, as they try to describe the world as it is and as it might be, rather than as one would prefer it to be. With this legacy in mind, we reflect on our mission and present our annual assessment of the Andrew W. Marshall Foundation’s past year.
In 2025, our focus continued to further our mission of developing successive generations of long-term strategic thinkers. Through our engagements we continued to find and foster the kind of people Andy would have recognized and appreciated.
